Boston College received a big boost in advance of Saturday night’s matchup against No. 2 Clemson.

Star running back AJ Dillon will be in the lineup for the Eagles in the showdown against the undefeated Tigers (9-0, 6-0 ACC).

Dillon’s status had been a question mark after he aggravated an ankle injury in last week’s 31-21 win at Virginia Tech, but Boston College coach Steve Addazio removed any doubts in an interview with ESPN on Saturday morning.

“He feels great. He’s gonna be ready to roll tonight,” said Addazio. “They’re gonna get a full dose of AJ Dillon.”

Dillon has been forced to miss two games due to the ankle issues, but he still leads the ACC in rushing with 897 yards in seven games for the Eagles (7-2, 4-1).

The 6-foot, 245-pound sophomore already has rushed for at least 149 yards in four games and has scored eight touchdowns — four coming in the past three games. He is averaging 128.1 yards rushing per contest.

As a freshman, Dillon burst on the national scene with 1,432 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns. Dillon capped the season with five consecutive 100-yard games.

Dillon was pretty much held in check in a 34-7 loss at Clemson in his fourth college game, rushing for 57 yards and a score on 18 carries.

The Eagles are unbeaten in five home games entering Saturday’s matchup.
