Duke kicker Austin Parker was reinstated to the Blue Devils’ roster five months after he was kicked off the team, head coach David Cutcliffe announced on Wednesday.

Parker was dismissed from the team before the Quick Lane Bowl against Northern Illinois in December, after he was suspended from school for violating unspecified university academic policy.

Cutcliffe said Parker “displayed humility and wisdom while, through his actions, regaining our trust” during the suspension.

Parker, who has been reinstated to school and started summer school on Wednesday, made 17 of 21 field goals attempts and 33 of 35 extra point tries last season. He also averaged 42 yards per punt and placed 10 of his 61 punts inside the 20-yard line.
