GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Florida State’s offense vs. Wake Forest’s defense. No one has had any trouble scoring against the Demon Deacons, who have the worst defense — statistically — in the ACC, allowing a league-high 31 offensive touchdowns this season to go along with an ACC-worst 36.8 points per game. If the Seminoles can find any sort of offensive groove against Wake Forest, they may triple that 10.5-point line they’re favored by.

DRAFT SLANT

–Florida State’s highest-rated player is 6-foot-5 defensive end Brian Burns, whom NFL draft analyst Dane Brugler considers a potential first-rounder in 2019. Burns leads the team with seven sacks through six games — and is tied for fifth in the country. Brugler even joked a few weeks ago that Florida State “should give Burns some time at TE” after he intercepted a 2-point conversion with one hand against Northern Illinois.

ROSTER REPORT:

–DE Janarius Robinson of Panama City lost his home to Hurricane Michael. Robinson left the team briefly to assist his family, but returned to the team and practiced on Tuesday

–Florida State’s offensive line continues to battle injuries. Offensive tackle Derrick Kelly (leg) should see more time against Wake Forest after serving as a backup against Miami, and guard Cole Minshew (ankle) continues to play, despite both ankles ailing. Offensive tackle Landon Dickerson was hopeful to return this week, but head coach Willie Taggart said this week Dickerson’s timetable to return is still unclear.
