James Blackman – Noteworthy
Florida State’s new starting quarterback James Blackman feels like he’s untouchable. Not in terms of critique or accountability – he welcomes that. But in terms of comfort in the pocket, Blackman said Wednesday before practice the offensive line has stepped up and is making his job easier. “I’ve been comfortable, but most definitely [feeling more comfortable behind the offensive line this year]. It let me know that nobody’s going to touch me. Even in the lunch room, nobody touches Black,” he said with a laugh. “It makes me feel a lot more comfortable everywhere. Class, the grocery store, everywhere.” Blackman added the offensive line’s improvement is clear to anyone watching the Seminoles practice. “Most definitely. You guys coming to watch practice today? Watch how Cam Akers breaks through the hole today. They’re making big, gigantic holes,” he said. “They’re getting better each and every day. They want to get better each and every day, and they’re working hard. I commend them. I just love it. I love seeing them come out here and go hard each and every day and put in that work to get better.” – The Orlando Sentinel
