GAME BREAKDOWN
KEY MATCHUP: Georgia Tech OLB Jalen Johnson vs. Georgia RB D’Andre Swift. Johnson has done a great job playing the run the last two weeks (nine tackles in each game) and will need a great effort to slow the elusive Swift. He has rushed for 857 yards and had a string of three consecutive 100-yard games halted last week when he carried only nine times for 43 yards against UMass. Swift is also a threat as a receiver on short throws and screens. Johnson and Charlie Thomas, the other outside linebacker, can’t allow Swift to reach the next level or it will be a long day.
DRAFT SLANT
–DE Anree Saint-Amour, a senior, is an undersized defensive end (6-3, 245) who has been the team’s leading pass rusher all season. Saint-Amour is a two-time ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week but has suffered from constant double-teaming over the last month. He is most likely seen as a free-agent signee.
ROSTER REPORT:
–FB KirVonte Benson, a junior, is out for the year after knee surgery.
–LB JaQuan Henderson, a sophomore, missed last week’s game with an upper body injury. His status is undetermined.
–DB Lamont Simmons, a senior, had to leave the Virginia game with a lower body injury. His status is undetermined.
