PLAYERS TO WATCH

–DE Anree Saint-Amour was double-teamed early but was able to shake look in the second half to record two tackles for loss against Virginia Tech. The senior leads the team with 7.5 sacks and six tackles for loss and has been the best defensive lineman in the rotation.

–OLB Charlie Thomas, a true freshman, continued to put up good numbers. He had nine tackles, one hurry, one tackle for loss and one sack against the Hokies. Thomas took most of the snaps at the Jack outside linebacker spot, even though Victor Alexander was the starter.

–CB Jalen Johnson had perhaps his best game of the season last week. The senior had four tackles and recovered a fumble that changed the momentum of the game. It was Johnson’s first takeaway of the season.

–B-Back Jordan Mason, a redshirt freshman, rushed 12 times for 82 yards and three touchdowns. Mason is the team’s top non-quarterback rusher; he has 82 carries for 564 yards and seven touchdowns.

SERIES HISTORY: Georgia Tech leads North Carolina 29-21-3. The Yellow Jackets won 33-7 last year in Atlanta to break a three-game losing streak to the Tar Heels. North Carolina leads the series 13-10-3 in games played in Chapel Hill.
