–S Jaquan Johnson is a steadying influence in Miami’s secondary. Despite miss two full games and half of another, he is second on the team in tackles with 69 stops. He has an interception and a blocked kick to go along with them.

SERIES HISTORY: Miami leads the series with Pittsburgh 25-11-1. Pitt won the last meeting 24-14 in 2017.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “It’s just human nature to feel miserable when you’re not winning. So much of our lives are poured into the effort (losing is) hard to stomach for anybody. Then when you win, you can’t help but feel better.” — Coach Mark Richt, on team morale after snapping a four-game losing streak with the win at Virginia Tech last week.
