With 11:52 left in the third quarter, Florida State scored on a 74-yard punt return, giving the Seminoles a 27-7 lead over in-state rival Miami and the game appeared to be well under control.
With 11:52 left in the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes trailed by just six points, 27-21, after two touchdown passes from quarterback N’Kosi Perry in a span of 42 seconds, and the ‘Canes had the ball at the Florida State 41-yard line. That’s when tight end Brevin Jordan, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev., made the play of the game.
Jordan hauled in a scoring strike from Perry and the extra point gave Miami is first lead, 28-27. That proved to be the final score, giving the Hurricanes its biggest comeback win ever against the Seminoles. It was the first time for Miami to have back-to-back victories over Florida State since 2003-2004.
For the game, Perry threw four touchdown passes and Jordan had two catches, including the one that gave Miami the lead.
Jordan’s game-winning reception is this week’s U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”
Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
