Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger aggravated the AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, coach Tom Herman announced on Monday.

Ehlinger exited the Longhorns’ 24-10 win over Iowa State during the second quarter on Saturday after receiving a hit on his right shoulder following a 13-yard run.

He is considered questionable for Friday’s game against Kansas.

“No broken bones. No separation. No ridiculous amount of damage,” Herman said during a conference call on Monday, per the Dallas Morning News. “But it’s angry. It’s upset. The joint, the shoulder is inflamed.”

Herman said Ehlinger will not throw on Monday, but he is hopeful that will change on Tuesday.

If Ehlinger cannot play, Shane Buechele would start on Friday.

If No. 15 Texas beats Kansas it is guaranteed a berth in the Big 12 championship game.

–Charlotte announced that Brad Lambert will not return as the team’s football coach next season. He will, however, coach the 49ers’ final game against Florida Atlantic on Saturday.

Charlotte has lost three in a row to fall to 4-7 this season.

Lambert has posted a 21-48 mark in six seasons with the 49ers, with the first two campaigns in FCS and the last four in FBS as a member of Conference USA.

–Arkansas head coach Chad Morris announced that defensive backs Ryan Pulley and Kamren Curl will not play against Missouri on Saturday.

“They will not be here today or yesterday or any part of this week for unacceptable behavior, actions that are completely unacceptable to anything we’re about,” Morris said.

Morris did not specify the violations that warranted the suspensions, but the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that Pulley and Curl were seen talking to and having their pictures taken with members of the Mississippi State cheer squad before Saturday’s game. Former Arkansas All-American tight end DJ Williams, who is now a TV reporter, was the person who witnessed the interaction, according to the report.

Pulley is a starting cornerback, while Curl has started all 11 games at strong safety.
