Sophomore defensive tackle Lamonte McDougle transferred from West Virginia to Washington State.

The official announcement of McDougle’s move was posted on Washington State’s official Twitter feed on Wednesday.

McDougle announced at the end of March that he was quitting the program and planned to transfer. He had already been ruled out for the spring while recovering from shoulder surgery.

The 6-foot, 303-pound McDougle appeared in 11 games in 2017 as a true freshman with the Mountaineers. He notched 23 tackles, including four for loss, and two sacks.

Although West Virginia granted McDougle a release from his scholarship, the school restricted him from transferring to other schools in the Big 12 Conference or to future non-conference opponents.
