Defensive lineman Jay Hayes announced last week he was transferring from Notre Dame, and on Sunday, he announced via social media that he will transfer to Oklahoma.

“Officially an Oklahoma Sooner! #TakeOver #BoomerSooner,” Hayes said on his Twitter site.

The move has not been confirmed by Oklahoma yet.

The 6-4, 289-pound Hayes is a graduate transfer so he will be eligible to play for the Sooners in the 2018 season.

He played in 26 games for the Irish over the last three seasons. He was a starting defensive end in all 13 of Notre Dame’s games during 2017 season, when he had one sack, 3.5 tackles for loss and 27 tackles.
