PLAYERS TO WATCH

–WR Hakeem Butler had another big game against Akron with six catches for 88 yards and a touchdown. He’s now tied for ninth in school history with 18 receiving touchdowns, and 26th with 1,126 career receiving yards.

–RB David Montgomery will see a lot of work on Saturday, especially in the red zone. The TCU defense is fast, but Montgomery’s ability to break tackles and keep moving forward can help keep the offense moving forward.

–DE JaQuan Bailey had 1.5 sacks among his 2.5 tackles for loss. He also forced a fumble and broke up a pass. He’s been a force all season on the defensive line for the Cyclones.

–K Connor Assalley remained perfect on the season on field goals, knocking down all four in his attempts. Not bad for a walk-on who didn’t have a scholarship offer out of high school.

SERIES HISTORY: TCU leads Iowa State 7-2. However, the Cyclones beat then-No. 5 TCU, 14-7, last year.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “When you turn the videotape on, it’s almost like watching them on fast forward.” — Coach Matt Campbell, in the Des Moines Register, on the TCU defense.
