PLAYERS TO WATCH

–RB Kennedy Brooks, a redshirt freshman, has 454 yards on 38 carries this year to average 11.9 yards per carry. Oklahoma’s single-season yards-per-carry record among players with at least 400 yards is 9.5 by Leon Heath in 1949.

–QB Kyler Murray has thrown at least two touchdown passes in every game this season, and at least three in each of his last seven games. Murray has 17 touchdown passes over the last four games and leads the Big 12 in total offense per game by more than 90 yards over No. 2 Taylor Cornelius of Oklahoma State (392.0 to 301.2).

–DE Jalen Redmond, a freshman, was announced to be out for the season with blood clot issues but returned two games ago and last week against Kansas State played a big role on defense, finishing with 2.5 tackles for loss. Redmond’s role figures to continue to expand as he grows more comfortable with the defense.

–K/P Austin Seibert tied the NCAA record for both PATs made and attempted with his final extra point last week against Kansas State. Seibert is 11 points away from tying Oklahoma’s career scoring record set by Michael Hunnicutt. Seibert is currently No. 9 in NCAA career scoring among kickers.

SERIES HISTORY: Oklahoma leads Texas Tech 19-6, including 7-4 in Lubbock. Last season, the Sooners won 49-27 in Norman to extend their winning streak in the series to six.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “Not right now. You sit here and answer these questions and … I always want to be truthful. And the truth for me is I love Oklahoma. I love coaching here. I love college football. I certainly don’t have that itch right now. I don’t know if I ever will. I’m never going to be a guy that’s going to stand up here and say no way, no how will any of these things ever happen. I don’t know that. I know right now I could care less about the NFL.” — Lincoln Riley, Sooners’ coach, on the possibility of coaching in the NFL. Riley’s name was brought up after the Cleveland Browns fired Hue Jackson on Monday.
