PLAYERS TO WATCH

–RB Trey Sermon ran for a career-high 206 yards last week against Texas Tech, solidifying his place as the No. 1 running option on the team ahead of Kennedy Brooks. Seven of Sermon’s carries in that game were for 10 or more yards. The Sooners are No. 1 in rushing offense in the Big 12 with 246.8 yards per game, well ahead of second-place Oklahoma State at 200.1.

–CB Tre Brown has been in the starting lineup ever since Ruffin McNeill took over as defensive coordinator three games ago and has solidified himself as the Sooners’ top cornerback. Last week against Texas Tech, the Red Raiders rarely challenged Brown but when they did, the sophomore came up with a few critical plays.

–WR Marquise Brown’s production has slowed, thanks in part to injuries that have limited him the last few weeks, but he’s still 23rd nationally in receiving yards per game with 90.4 and third nationally with 18.1 yards per catch.

–K/P Austin Seibert set the NCAA record for both PATs made and attempted with his first extra point last week against Texas Tech. Seibert is four points away from tying Oklahoma’s career scoring record set by Michael Hunnicutt. Seibert is currently No. 8 in NCAA career scoring among kickers.

SERIES HISTORY: Oklahoma leads Oklahoma State 87-18-7, including 65-52 last season in Stillwater. The Sooners have won three consecutive games in the series.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “I know growing up, I never really liked OSU. I hated OSU if you want to be real. I just hated the colors. Maybe that’s why I don’t like Texas either, just seeing orange and stuff like that growing up always an Oklahoma fan.” — Tre Brown, Oklahoma cornerback, on his feelings about Oklahoma State.
