PLAYERS TO WATCH

–WR Marquise Brown had 11 catches for 243 yards last week against West Virginia, showing that he’s fully recovered from the leg injury that slowed him down over the season’s second half. Over the last three games, Brown has 25 catches for 450 yards.

–RB Kennedy Brooks has had three big games in a row, with 61 carries for 508 yards and six touchdowns over that span. In the first meeting between the teams, Brooks had just three catches for 34 yards while Trey Sermon and Marcelias Sutton carried the load at running back. Sutton is out for the season and Sermon has been limited with an ankle injury.

–LB Kenneth Murray has 133 tackles this season, the most by an Oklahoma player since freshman Travis Lewis had 144 in 2008. Murray has 114 tackles over the past nine games. Murray is second in the Big 12 and fifth nationally in tackles per game.

–K Austin Seibert is five points away from becoming the second-leading scorer in FBS history among kickers. Seibert has 476 career points, just behind Auburn’s Daniel Carlson (2014-17). Arizona State’s Zane Gonzalez has the record with 494 points.

SERIES HISTORY: Texas leads 62-46-5, including a 48-45 win earlier this season. The teams haven’t met twice in a season since 1903 when they played in Norman and Austin. This will be their first meeting somewhere other than in Dallas since 1923 and somewhere other than the Cotton Bowl since 1930.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “It will be different for sure, like the drive-in. I like seeing everything split halfway and I think it’s really cool because you get some cool pictures out of it too, but a football game is a football game. All that outside is awesome, but once you’re on the field you kind of lock in. At game time it will be game time. I do love the Cotton Bowl and I do love how everything is put on and that’s everybody’s favorite game of the year.” — LB Caleb Kelly on the difference playing Texas at AT&T Stadium vs. the Cotton Bowl.
