GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: TCU’s defense against West Virginia’s running attack. The Mountaineers, though considered a high-powered offense because of their thrilling passing attack spurred by quarterback Will Grier, would rather run the ball — and their running attack was the difference in last week’s win over Texas. It’s a pick-your-poison situation for the Horned Frogs but expect TCU to give the West Virginia offense a run for its money.

DRAFT SLANT:

–DE Ben Banogu is the easy pick to be the Horned Frogs’ first player taken in the 2019 draft. He’s a speed rusher off the edge and will be looking to build on his junior season in which he had 8.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss. Banogu could’ve tested the draft waters after last season but opted to return. A big season could make him a Day 2 prospect and have him in line for even more honors than he earned after last season. Banogu now has 35 stops, a forced fumble that led to a TD return, a fumble return for score, another fumble recovery, five sacks and five quarterback hurries for the season.

ROSTER REPORT:

–Playing without four injured defensive starters, TCU held Kansas State to 301 yards of offense and a 5-of-16 mark on third-down conversions. The Horned Frogs equaled a season-high with four sacks.

–WR Jalen Reagor has receiving touchdowns in four consecutive games. He is also the last player to accomplish that feat, doing so in the final four games a year ago.

–CB Jeff Gladney set a career-high with 10 tackles, including a career-best three for loss. He had his first career sack and forced fumble on the same play.
