GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: The TCU defensive front six versus the Texas offensive line. The Longhorns want to run the ball to keep it out of the hands of the dangerous and speedy TCU offense. The Horned Frogs must be ready for Texas to try mixing in the run with short, high-percentage passes — even in the tempo offense — that will keep TCU out of quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s face and help limit the Horned Frogs’ possessions.

DRAFT SLANT

–DE Ben Banogu is the easy pick to be the Horned Frogs’ first player taken in the 2019 draft. He’s a speed rusher off the edge and will be looking to build on his junior season in which he had 8.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss. Banogu could’ve tested the draft waters after last season but opted to return. A big season could make him a Day 2 prospect and have him in line for even more honors than he earned after last season. He showed his skills over the past two weeks when he forced a fumble that was return for a touchdown in the win over SMU and when he recorded three tackles and a quarterback hurry in the loss to Ohio State.

ROSTER REPORT:

–Darius Anderson’s 93-yard scoring run against Ohio State was the longest rushing play in TCU history, bettering the previous mark of 89 yards by LaDainian Tomlinson versus UTEP in 2000 and San Jose State in 1999.

–DE/LB Ty Summers made his 27th career start, most among current Horned Frogs. He returned to linebacker after starting the opening two games at defensive end.

–TCU had its first game with a 50-yard pass (51-yard touchdown, Shawn Robinson to TreVontae Hights) and a 50-yard rush (93-yard touchdown, Anderson) since a 52-45 win at Kansas State in 2015.
