Texas Tech dismisses leading returning tackler

have been dismissed from the program ”due to failure to uphold student-athlete expectations.”

Kingsbury did not elaborate on the reason behind the dismissal of the three players.

Allen, a redshirt sophomore, was the team’s leading returning tackler after finishing second to Micah Awe with 87 tackles last season to go with 6.0 tackles for loss and a pair of interceptions.

Castaneda was listed as the second-team center last season, while Ellison was expected to compete for the backup job to starting left tackle Baylen Brown.
