GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: West Virginia’s defense versus Baylor’s offense. The Bears’ quarterback, Charlie Brewer, is improving with every rep and every game and nearly brought Baylor back to beat Texas on Oct. 13. This will be a challenge for West Virginia because it’s almost a mirror of what it saw against Iowa State, except for the fact that the Bears are loads better across the board than they were last year. Expect a real tussle.

DRAFT SLANT

–WR David Sills V was in his first full season as a wideout last year and produced some prodigious offensive stats (60 catches, 980 yards and 18 touchdowns). He’s one of two West Virginia players (Grier is the other) named to the AP preseason All-American team and is off to a flying start this year with 32 catches for 390 yards and seven touchdowns over the first six games. He’s a prototype slot receiver who can make the big catches over the middle and handle one-on-one hand-play with defensive backs.

ROSTER REPORT:

–Redshirt junior linebacker Shea Campbell and sophomore cornerback Derrek Pitts Jr. were first-time starters for the Mountaineers against Iowa State. Campbell had a career-high 12 tackles.
