GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: West Virginia’s running attack against TCU’s defense. The Mountaineers, though considered a high-powered offense because of their thrilling passing attack spurred by quarterback Will Grier, would rather run the ball — and their running attack was the difference in last week’s win over Texas. It’s a pick-your-poison situation for the Horned Frogs but expect TCU to give the West Virginia offense a run for its money.

DRAFT SLANT

–WR David Sills V, one of two West Virginia players (Grier is the other) named to the AP preseason All-American team, has been lethal this year with 43 catches for 626 yards and 11 touchdowns over the first eight games. He’s a prototype slot receiver who can make the big catches over the middle and handle one-on-one hand-play with defensive backs.

ROSTER REPORT:

–Coach Dana Holgorsen earned his 60th career win at West Virginia, moving him into a tie with Rich Rodriguez (2001-07) for No. 2 in program history.

–Redshirt senior S Dravon Askew-Henry made his team-leading 47th career start, second- most in program history.

–QB Will Grier and WR David Sills V have connected on 29 touchdowns since the start of the 2017 season — that’s 11 more than any other QB-WR duo in FBS.
