Wisconsin might be without quarterback Alex Hornibrook again for Saturday’s pivotal Big Ten game against Penn State.

Hornibrook sat out a game two weeks ago because he did not get through the concussion protocol. He returned to start Saturday’s game against Rutgers, but he left that game with head injury concerns.

He did not have a great game against the Scarlet Knicks, completing 7 of 16 passes for 92 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

On Monday, Hornibrook was listed as questionable for this week’s game.

If Hornibrook cannot play this week, Jack Coan will again start for the Badgers.

Coan, a sophomore, completed 20 of 31 pass attempts for 158 yards and a touchdown in a 31-17 loss to Northwestern two weeks ago. He also filled in for Hornibrook on Saturday when Hornibrook left the game. Coan was 5 of 7 for 64 yards and a touchdown in the 31-17 victory over Rutgers.

If Coan starts, the Badgers will probably rely on their running game with Jonathan Taylor.

Wisconsin (6-3, 4-2 Big Ten) is still in the running in the Big Ten West, a game behind first-place Northwestern.
Penn State (6-3, 3-3) is no longer in contention in the Big Ten East after losing to Michigan on Saturday.
