Iowa starting running back Ivory Kelly-Martin was ruled out of Saturday’s game at Indiana.

Kelly-Martin did not pass the concussion protocol after he was injured in the Hawkeyes’ 48-31 win at Minnesota last weekend, according to the Des Moines Register.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Kelly-Martin is third on the team with 181 yards rushing through three games.

Kelly-Martin rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries in a season-opening win over Northern Illinois. Injuries caused him to miss the next two games against Iowa State and Northern Iowa.

He returned to the lineup against Wisconsin on Sept. 22 and had 72 yards on 14 carries in a 28-17 loss to the Badgers.

Toren Young and Mekhi Sargent are expected to get the bulk of the work against the Hoosiers. Young has rushed for a team-high 286 yards but the junior has been limited to 52 yards on 11 carries combined the past two games.

Sargent has rushed for 184 yards and a team-best four touchdowns but has only 15 carries over the last two games. He had a season-high 72 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries in Week 3 against Northern Iowa.

Iowa enters Saturday’s matchup with a 4-1 overall record and 1-1 mark in Big Ten play. Indiana is 4-2 and 1-1 in the conference.
