Iowa offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs, a preseason All-America selection, was cited by police in Iowa City for violating a city ordinance.
Iowa City laws prohibit people under 21 from being in a bar past 10 p.m.
According to the Quad City Times, Wirfs was one of six people charged at the Sports Column on Friday night at 11:30. In all, police cited 13 people throughout the city.
If found guilty of the charge, which is a simple misdemeanor, Wirfs would face a fine of up to $250.
Wirfs, 20, was an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection last season as a sophomore. Athlon Sports tabbed him as a fourth-team preseason all-American.
He was suspended for Iowa’s season opener last year after being charged with operating a motor scooter while intoxicated.
