Josh Jackson – Noteworthy
Josh Jackson, the former starting quarterback for the Virginia Tech Hokies, is transferring to Maryland. Jackson announced his commitment to Maryland on Twitter Monday night. Jackson has two years of NCAA eligibility left. Although he is coming off a broken leg that derailed his sophomore season, he racked up 2,991 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns and six rushing scores as a redshirt freshman in 2017. The 6-foot-1 quarterback from Ann Arbor, Michigan, recently entered the NCAA’s transfer portal and reportedly visited the College Park campus over the weekend. The Terrapins’ quarterback situation has been ugly in recent years, but not for a lack of talent. They had to hand the keys to a fourth-stringer in 2016 due to starter Perry Hills and two backups getting injured. In 2017, both Tyrrell Pigrome and Kasim Hill tore ACLs, and last year, Hill tore his other ACL after nine games. – Washington Post
