PLAYERS TO WATCH

–RB Karan Higdon is Michigan’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 2012, sitting at 1,005 after gaining 42 yards in last week’s 42-7 win at Rutgers. The senior needs 57 yards to become the 15th player in school history to reach 2,500 for his career.

–QB Shea Patterson, who was 18-of-27 for 260 yards and three touchdowns against Rutgers, has only three interceptions in 227 attempts this season and just one in 162 attempts during Big Ten play. “He makes really good decisions when he throws the ball, he throws really accurate balls,” Harbaugh said. “He sees the field really well. From the first game that he played here that was really evident with him. There’s not a lot of times that it could have gotten intercepted.”

–Michigan has started the same five offensive linemen every game this season, contributing to the Wolverines to average 215.4 rushing yards per game, which would be its best production since 2011.

–CB Ambry Thomas became the sixth different Wolverine to intercept a pass with his pick against Rutgers. This marks three straight seasons that Michigan has had at least six players with an interception.

SERIES HISTORY: Michigan leads Indiana 57-9, its best record (by winning percentage) against a Big Ten team other than recent addition Maryland. The Wolverines have won 22 consecutive meetings with the Hoosiers, the last loss coming in 1987.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “This past game was really windy; it was tough catching the ball. I dropped two in the pregame; I pride myself in catching them all. There was those two drops by me and none by the receivers.” — Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh
