GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Ohio State’s dynamic defensive line will give Tulane’s offensive line everything it can handle and more this week. The Buckeyes’ plethora of pass rushers could have a big day against the Green Wave. Tulane QB Jonathan Banks was sacked six times in a 31-24 loss at UAB last week and completed just seven passes. Ohio State’s relentless rush — with DT Dre’Mont Jones, DE Nick Boss and DE Jonathan Cooper — came up with three sacks and forced two interceptions in the win last week over TCU. Tulane will be hard pressed to keep Ohio State pass rushers out of the backfield on Saturday.

DRAFT SLANT

–DT Dre’Mont Jones might be somewhat overshadowed by Ohio State DE and teammate Nick Bosa, but he is an impact player. Jones made a game-changing play in the win over TCU last week when he intercepted a shovel pass in the third quarter and ran 20 yards for a go-ahead touchdown. His ability as an inside rusher makes him a potential first-round draft pick in 2019 should he decide to leave Ohio State. NFLDraftScout’s Dane Brugler projects Jones as the No. 28 pick next year.

ROSTER REPORT:

–DE Nick Bosa will miss Saturday’s game against Tulane, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said Monday. Bosa, a preseason All-American, left last week’s game against TCU in the third quarter and did not return. “He’ll have further tests on a groin and abdominal issue,” Meyer said. Bosa’s status beyond this week is unknown.

–DT Dre’Mont Jones was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against TCU. Jones intercepted a shovel pass that he returned 20 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter of Ohio State’s 40-28 win and had two tackles for loss and a sack.
