With just 1:23 left in the game, Southern Miss trailed Louisiana Tech, 27-16. But with the help of a recovered onside kick, the Golden Eagles tied the game with a field goal, touchdown and a two-point conversion, forcing the game into overtime.
On the first play of the second overtime, wide receiver Korey Robertson caught a 25-yard scoring pass from quarterback Keon Howard and USM held on to beat the Bulldogs, 34-27.
Robertson’s dramatic winning reception is this week’s U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”
