UTEP’s Locksley arrested on DWI, other charges

A Texas-El Paso quarterback faces numerous charges following his arrest Saturday morning.

Kai Anthony Locksley was charged with driving while intoxicated, making a terroristic threat, possession of marijuana under two ounces and unlawful carrying of a weapon, according to El Paso County jail records.

His father, Mike Locksley, is the football coach at Maryland.

The younger Locksley played in nine games last season for the Miners, starting eight. He completed 49.1 percent of his passes for 937 yards, throwing three touchdowns and nine interceptions. He rushed for 340 yards and six scores.

Locksley transferred from Iowa Western Community College prior to last season. He will be a senior in 2019.
