Miles Boykin has 32 receptions for Notre Dame this season, but none was bigger than his fourth quarter catch against Pittsburgh.
Trailing the Panthers, 14-12, with just over five minutes remaining, the Irish wide receiver caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ian Book to give his team its first lead of the game. They held on to win, 19-14, avoiding the upset bug that bit so many other ranked teams on Saturday.
Boykin’s game-winning reception is this week’s U.S. Farm-Raised Catfish “Catch of the Week.”
For the game, the senior from Tinley Park, Ill., caught four passes for 84 yards. Book completed 26 of 32 passes for 264 yards and two scores.
Book-to-Boykin has become well known to Irish fans. They connected on a 55-yard touchdown pass with under two minutes remaining in the Citrus Bowl in January to give the Irish a 21-17 win over LSU.
Remember … for the tailgate tent or the pre-game party, U. S. Farm-Raised Catfish is always “the winning catch.”
