Alabama is the new No. 1 in the College Football Rankings released Tuesday night.

The Crimson Tide (10-0) moved up from No. 2 after its 31-24 win at Mississippi State last week, replacing Georgia at the top after the Bulldogs lost at Auburn 40-17. Georgia (9-1) fell to No. 7.

Rounding out the top four in the rankings are No. 2 Clemson (9-1), No. 3 Miami (9-0) and No. 4 Oklahoma (9-1).

Clemson (9-1) advanced from No. 4 to No. 2 after its 31-24 win over Florida State last week.

The Hurricanes forged ahead from last week’s No. 7 ranking after their impressive 41-8 win over previous No. 3 Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish (8-2) are now ranked No. 8.

Oklahoma moved from No. 5 to No. 4 after its 38-20 win over TCU last week.

Unbeaten Wisconsin (10-0) and Central Floria (9-0) remain farther down the rankings. The Badgers are No. 5 and the Knights, of the non-Power 5 American Athletic Conference, are ranked No. 15.

USC (9-2) is the highest rated Pac-12 team at No. 11.

Three SEC teams — Alabama, No. 6 Auburn and Georgia — are in the top 10 as are three from the Big Ten — Wisconsin, No. 9 Ohio State and No. 10 Penn State.
