ANAHEIM, Calif. — Dillon Brooks scored 22 points and Elgin Cook had 16 as top-seeded Oregon eliminated defending champion Duke 82-68 on Thursday in an NCAA Tournament West Region semifinal.

Jordan Bell had 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots as the Ducks (31-6) extended their school record for victories in a season.

Freshman Brandon Ingram scored 24 points, but was about the only Blue Devil who could keep up with Pac-12 regular-season and tournament champion Oregon’s quickness and athleticism.

Casey Benson had 11 points and eight assists as the Ducks advanced to meet second-seeded Oklahoma in Saturday’s region final.

Grayson Allen had 15 points and freshman Luke Kennard added 13 points and 11 rebounds for Duke (25-11), which shot 44.1 percent.

Oregon shot 49.2 percent from the field and posted a 42-32 rebounding edge.

Kansas 79, Maryland 63

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Perry Ellis enjoyed the best NCAA Tournament game of his career with 27 points as the Jayhawks defeated the Terrapins and advanced to the South Region final.

Ellis canned 10-of-17 shots, scoring 15 points in the second half and feasting on the Terrapins’ interior defense after center Diamond Stone drew

his third foul 1:08 after the break. Ellis, who scored 21 points in each of Kansas’ victories over Austin Peay and Connecticut, never scored more than 17 in an NCAA Tournament game before last week.

Wayne Selden added 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Jayhawks (33-4), who play second-seeded Villanova on Saturday with a berth in the Final Four at stake. Landen Lucas contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Rasheed Sulaimon and Melo Trimble paced Maryland (27-9) with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Villanova 92, Miami 69

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In their first regional semifinal since 2009, the Wildcats led wire-to-wire and advanced to the South Region title game with a thumping of the Hurricanes.

Ryan Arcidiacono paced Villanova (32-5) with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, nailing four of the Wildcats’ 10 3-pointers. Kris Jenkins also scored 21, while Daniel Ochefu added 17 points and Josh Hart hit for 14 despite sitting out more than 11 minutes of the first half after picking up two fouls in a five-second span.

Sheldon McClellan fired in 26 points for Miami and backcourt partner Angel Rodriguez tallied 13. The Hurricanes (27-8) canned better than 53 percent of their field goal attempts, including 10 of 17 from 3-point range.

Oklahoma 77, Texas A&M 63

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Jordan Woodard had 20 points and five 3-pointers and Buddy Hield added 17 points as the Sooners advanced to the NCAA Tournament West Region final with a victory over the Aggies.

Woodard and Hield had seven of Oklahoma’s 11 3-pointers and freshman Christian James tied a second high with the other four threes, and the

Sooners were never threatened after using a 34-9 run in the first half to take a 19-point halftime lead.

Freshman Tyler Davis, the focal point of the offense early in the second half, had 17 points and eight rebounds for Texas A&M (28-9).
