Terrill Hanks – Noteworthy
Terrill Hanks has crisscrossed the country multiple times in pursuit of his dream to play in the NFL. The former New Mexico State football standout has now entered the interview/individual workout phase, but he made a quick stop in Las Cruces on Tuesday for New Mexico State’s pro day in front of 18 NFL scouts at Aggie Memorial Stadium. “I was out there to support my brothers and it felt good being on that field one last time,” Hanks said. Hanks has trained in California in preparation for the Senior Bowl in January and last month’s NFL Scouting Combine. There was buzz surrounding Hanks entering the Combine, but he suffered a hamstring injury running the 40-yard dash, finishing with a time of 4.98 seconds.

Hanks didn’t run the 40 on Tuesday, but the majority of teams interested in Hanks, who was 6-foot-2, 242 pounds at the Combine, know that he plays fast on film and it did not stop other teams from meeting with him. “It’s been more than I expected,” Hanks said. “It was crazy just seeing that amount of scouts (on Tuesday). My agent was telling me that position coaches usually don’t come to a pro day.” Hanks said he has met or worked out with eight NFL teams thus far. He will work out for the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans in the next two weeks as well as meetings with the Minnesota Vikings and Carolina Panthers. – Las Cruces Sun News
