Malik Reed – Noteworthy
The Nevada football team will hold its annual pro day Wednesday with a weight room portion and an on-field portion on campus. Since no Wolf Pack players were invited to this year’s NFL Combine, this event is big for Nevada’s prospects, none of whom are locks to be drafted in April. Here is a look at all 12 Nevada alums who are expected to take part in pro day. The top prospect in Nevada’s draft class, DE Malik Reed was the only Wolf Pack player invited to a showcase bowl. He participated in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl but was snubbed for the NFL combine. A defensive end until last season when he switched to outside linebacker, Reed is an elite pass-rusher who recorded 203 tackles, 38.5 tackles for loss, 22 sacks, 11 forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and a touchdown in 50 college games. At 6-1 and 250 pounds, he was small for an NFL end, hence the move to linebacker. – Nevada Sports Net
