PLAYERS TO WATCH

–RB Jermar Jefferson is seventh in FBS in rushing, averaging 130.33 yards per game, tops among true freshmen in the country. He has carried the ball 47 times for 334 yards and six touchdowns in Oregon State’s last two games. “He’s a good player for us, he needs to touch the ball,” coach Jonathan Smith said. “I know I don’t want to have him carrying it 25 times the next four straight games.”

–WR Isaiah Hodgins had 14 catches for 200 yards and two TDs against Nevada, tying the school single-game receptions mark. The sophomore’s 299 receiving yards this season are already more than he had in 2017.

–WR Timmy Hernandez pulled in 11 receptions for 116 yards against Nevada, giving the Beavers a pair of receivers with 10-plus catches for the first time since 2008.

SERIES HISTORY: Oregon State is 15-23-1 all-time against Arizona but has won 13 of the past 17 meetings, including the last two at home. The Beavers fell 49-28 at Arizona last November.

QUOTE TO NOTE: “The way these guys have prepared and played, I feel like we’re ready to play in a conference game.” — OSU coach Jonathan Smith on his team’s 1-2 start.
