Tony Brooks-James – Noteworthy
Everyone knows Tony Brooks-James is fast. Now there’s a way to compare the former Oregon running back and kick returner’s speed across college football. Brooks-James ran the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds at Oregon’s pro day and though that’s an unofficial hand-timed result, it would’ve tied for second among running backs to run at this year’s NFL Combine. His 4.17 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle would’ve been third and his 7.2 seconds in the three-cone would’ve been 10th out of 16 running backs to run at the Combine. Brooks-James didn’t perform the vertical jump but his 10-foor-7-inch broad jump would’ve tied for fourth among 23 running backs to jump at the Combine.

Brooks-James said pro day was his only chance to prove his skills after not receiving an invite to any of the college all-star games. “Today was it,” he said. “Do-or-die day for me. I left it all on the field. … Major chip on my shoulder. From not being invited to a bowl game or Combine and been looking down on, I had a chip on my shoulder that I had to brush off today.” He felt it was a mission accomplished after posting the impressive results. “Money,” Brooks-James said. “Money.” – OregonLive.com
