GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Oregon QB Justin Herbert faces a Stanford secondary that has frustrated opposing quarterbacks and forced interceptions, including another two against UC Davis. There are two bona fide Pac-12 powerhouses in safety Malik Antoine and cornerback Alijah Holder, complementing strong linebackers Joey Alfieri, Sean Barton and Bobby Okereke. Herbert looks like the best quarterback in a Pac-12 that no longer has USC’s Sam Darnold, UCLA’s Josh Rosen or Washington State’s Luke Falk.

DRAFT SLANT

–RB Bryce Love is back for the Oregon contest. Love has 3,288 career rushing yards and 25 touchdowns, and he is within reach of the 4,000-yard career mark this autumn. “The game against USC was a physical game and (Love) took a lot of shots,” coach David Shaw said. “It was good to get him a chance to recover.”

ROSTER REPORT:

–RB Bryce Love has been upgraded to probable for the Oregon game. Love has a knee injury.

–WR Connor Wedington is questionable for the Oregon game with an undisclosed injury.
