GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: The Stanford secondary has proven opportunistic at times this season, and cornerbacks Alijah Holder and Paulson Adebo are excellent. But the Cardinal will be tested by efficient ASU quarterback Manny Wilkins and future NFL receiver N’Keal Harry. If Stanford can coax Wilkins, who has just one interception this season, into making a mistake or two — that will give the Cardinal offense room to breathe.

DRAFT SLANT

–RB Bryce Love returns after missing the Utah game with an injury. Stanford missed him, as it gained just 42 rushing yards compared to the Utes’ 222. Love has 327 rushing yards and three touchdowns this season. “We don’t want to be dropping K.J. back 60 times a game and make him vulnerable to more big hits,” tight end Kaden Smith said. “So we really need to get this run game going and open up more holes.”

ROSTER REPORT:

–RB Bryce Love is probable for the Arizona State game with an ankle injury.

–WR Connor Wedington is out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury.

–S Ben Edwards is out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury.

–LB Casey Toohill is questionable for the Arizona State game with an arm injury.

–OL Foster Sarell is out indefinitely with a leg injury.

–LB Curtis Robinson is out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury.
