GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: No doubt, all eyes will be Alabama’s new-look secondary in the wake of CB Trevon Diggs’ fractured foot. The timing might actually be good for the Tide, considering Missouri receivers Nate Brown and Emanuel Hall each missed last week’s game against South Carolina because of groin injuries. The status for each was unknown early in the week.

Alabama still has others to worry about, including TE Albert Okwuegbunam, a redshirt sophomore who has a team-high 27 catches.

DRAFT SLANT

–DL Raekwon Davis, considered to be a high NFL Draft pick in 2019, has made 21 tackles this season, including 1.5 for loss. He also has five quarterback hurries. Those aren’t huge numbers, although there is no change in his freakish athletic ability. Davis ranks No. 5 on the Big Board of NFLDraftScout.com senior analyst Rob Rang, who writes: “With his long-arms and trim middle, Davis does not look like a traditional 300 pounder, sporting a frame and game that reminds me of former SEC and NFL legend Richard Seymour (6-6, 317), the sixth overall pick out of Georgia in 2001 and a seven-time Pro Bowler with the Patriots and Raiders.”

ROSTER REPORT:

–RB Damien Harris last week moved into 11th place on Alabama’s career rushing chart with 2,555 yards.

–CB Trevon Diggs, a starter, is out indefinitely because of a fractured foot.

–CB Jalyn Armour-Davis, a freshman who was the fifth cornerback on the depth chart, is out for the season because of a knee injury.

–S Daniel Wright, a sophomore, is out for the season because of a shoulder injury.

–OLB Terrell Lewis suffered a torn ACL over the summer during a workout and is likely out for the season. He was limited to four games because of an arm injury last season and was expected to be a key part of the OLB rotation.

–OLB Chris Allen, a sophomore, is out for the season because of a knee injury.

–RT Matt Womack, a projected starter, suffered a broken foot during camp and was expected to miss several weeks.
