Nick Saban and his run of dominance at Alabama will continue for the foreseeable future.
Saban was given a three-year contract extension voted on by the school’s board of trustees on Tuesday morning. He received a signing bonus and will earn $6.48 million per year through the 2025 season, per ESPN.
Saban, 65, said he wants to finish his coaching career at Alabama.
“Terry (Saban’s wife) and I are pleased and happy to agree to the contract extension the University of Alabama has offered us, ensuring our time here in Tuscaloosa will continue for many more years,” Saban said in a statement via ESPN.com. “This has become our home and we are looking forward to finishing our career at Alabama.”
Saban is the second-highest paid college football coach behind Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, who makes $9 million per season.
Under Saban, the Crimson Tide are 114-19 and have won four national championships. Alabama lost to Clemson in last year’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
Saban has also coached at LSU, Michigan State and Toledo and owns a 205-65-1 record as a collegiate head coach. He also spent two seasons in the NFL coaching the Miami Dolphins, going 15-17 before joining Alabama in 2007.
