Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t expect his sprained right knee to be a concern when Alabama faces Mississippi State.

Tagovailoa told reporters that he tweaked his knee on a 44-yard touchdown run in the third quarter of the Crimson Tide’s 29-0 victory over LSU on Saturday night. The sophomore was seen limping after the score and pointing to his knee.

“I know when I hit the 30 (yard line), my leg gave out, and I was just going off of momentum and trying to gallop into the end zone, and I made it, thank God,” Tagovailoa said.

Tagovailoa went into the medical tent after his rushing score and later rode a stationary bike on the sideline. He was back on the field for the Crimson Tide’s next possession.

Tagovailoa went 25 of 42 passing for 295 yards with two touchdowns for Alabama, which finished with a 576-196 advantage in total yards versus the Tigers.

“It shows what kind of things we can do against basically anyone,” Tagovailoa said.

Tagovailoa initially injured his knee against Arkansas on Oct. 6, although he has been on record as saying that he is 100 percent.

Jalen Hurts recently underwent surgery on his ankle, leaving Mac Jones as Alabama’s backup quarterback.
