Arkansas has yet to beat an FBS team this season, and its injury-plagued season got a little worse this week when coach Chad Morris announced that Devwah Whaley underwent surgery to repair an ankle injury sustained in Saturday’s loss to Mississippi.

The surgery will sideline the running back for at least the next two games.

The Razorbacks are hoping he can return for the Nov. 10 home game against LSU.

Whaley missed the games against Texas A&M and Alabama because of a concussion suffered in the Week 4 loss to Auburn.

He returned for the game against Ole Miss but is now out again.

Before the injury, Whaley was leading the Razorbacks in rushing with 231 yards and also had two rushing touchdowns.

Whaley now has 298 yards on the ground, which is second on the team.

Whaley had a season-high 165 rushing yards in the Sept. 8 loss to Colorado State. The 67 yards he had against Mississippi was his second-best total of the season.

The Razorbacks (1-6) won their opener against Eastern Illinois, then lost consecutive games to Colorado State, North Texas, Auburn, Texas A&M, Alabama and Mississippi.

Arkansas’ next three games are home, starting with Saturday’s game against Tulsa.
