GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: This is a classic matchup of irresistible force against immovable object. Behind RBs Elijah Holyfield (674 yards, 5 touchdowns) and D’Andre Swift (622, 7), the Bulldogs lead the SEC in rushing with its average of 233.8 yards per game. Auburn, with LB Deshaun Davis (85 tackles) leading the way, is holding foes to 100 yards a game less than that.

DRAFT SLANT

–QB Jarrett Stidham had good numbers but hadn’t been playing at quite the level expected this season, but he showed against Texas A&M that he is worthy of high consideration if he enters next spring’s NFL draft. He was 7-of-8 passing in Auburn’s two fourth-quarter touchdown drives as the Tigers rallied from a 24-14 deficit for the 28-24 victory over the Aggies. “As a quarterback, you love throwing the ball,” Stidham said. “At the end of the day though, you do whatever it takes to win the game.”

ROSTER REPORT:

–WR Ryan Davis needs just two more catches to become Auburn’s all-time leading receiver. The senior enters the weekend with 152 receptions in his career, one short of the record 153 set by Courtney Taylor fro 2003-06.

–WR Seth Williams earned SEC Freshman of the Week after his two touchdown receptions in the win over Texas A&M.

–DE Nick Coe was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors for the third time this season after recording two sacks against Texas A&M, one on the final play of the game to secure Auburn’s 28-24 victory.

–CB Noah Igbinoghene, moved from wide receiver to defense, came up with his first interception of the year in the fourth quarter against Texas A&M, not only stopping an Aggies drive but setting up a scoring drive that got the Tigers back to within 24-21 with just over five minutes left. “We’re going to fight until the end,” Igbinoghene said. “We’re not going to stop no matter what happens.”
