Top 25 Scores: No. 5 Texas A&M falls in Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Texas A&M’s first top-five ranking will be short-lived.

Moses Kingsley scored 18 points and Arkansas forced 21 turnovers in its biggest victory of the season, beating No. 5 Texas A&M 74-71 Wednesday night at Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks handed Texas A&M its first SEC loss and ended the Aggies’ school-record 10-game winning streak that began on Dec. 12.

Dusty Hannahs and Anthlon Bell each finished with 17 points in the Razorbacks’ upset win.

Danuel House scored 24 points to lead the Aggies, who shot 40 percent. Tyler Davis added 14 and Alex Caruso and Jalen Jones had 10 each.

No. 17 Baylor 69, Oklahoma State 65

STILLWATER, Okla. — The No. 17 Bears turned up their defense in the second half and then turned it on against the Cowboys, rallying for a win at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Taurean Prince led Baylor with 17 points while Rico Gathers added 16 and nine rebounds. Lester Medford contributed 12/

Chris Olivier led Oklahoma State with 17 points off the bench. Leyton Hammonds added 12, but 10 of those came in the first half.

No. 20 Kentucky 88, Missouri 52

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The No. 20 Wildcats boosted their winning streak to three heading into Saturday’s showdown at No. 4 Kansas by blasting the Tigers at Rupp Arena.

Tyler Ulis paced the 36-point victory with 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field. He also had eight assists. Derek Willis added a double-double with a career-best 18 points and 12 rebounds. Isaiah Briscoe added 15 points, six rebounds and six assists. Skal Labissiere scored 12 points Jamal Murray had 11 points and nine rebounds.

Missouri got 11 points from Wes Clark, though he was only 3 of 16 from the field. K.J. Walton and Kevin Puryear added 10 points each.

No. 21 Purdue 68, Minnesota 64

MINNEAPOLIS — Vince Edwards led the way with 24 points on 8-of-15 shooting as the No. 21 Boilermakers salvaged a game from their road trip, getting back in the win column by holding off the Golden Gophers.

A.J. Hammons added 16 points for Purdue, which lost at Iowa over the weekend, but maintained its status as one of the conference’s better road teams with the bounce-back win. Rapheal Davis contributed 10 points.

Nate Mason did his part with 15 points for Minnesota while Dupree McBrayer had 13 and Jordan Murphy 12.

No. 22 Wichita State 80, Loyola (Ill.) 54

In its first game as a ranked team in nearly two months, the No. 22 Shockers played like they intend to stay in the top 25 with a blowout win over the Ramblers at Koch Arena in Wichita, Kan.

Shaquille Morris led a very balanced attack with 12 points as Wichita State remained unbeaten in the Missouri Valley Conference. Rashard Kelly added 11 points and five other players scored either nine or eight points.

Montel James and Earl Peterson tallied 11 points each for Loyola, who won two straight before running headlong into the conference’s powerhouse program.

No. 16 Louisville 91, Virginia Tech 83

Damion Lee recorded season highs of 29 points and six 3-pointers to lead the No. 16 Cardinals over the Hokies in ACC play at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.

Trey Lewis scored 20 of season high-tying 22 points in the second half for the Cardinals. Jaylen Johnson added 11 points and nine rebounds as Louisville won its fourth straight game.

Jalen Hudson scored a season-best 27 points to pace the Hokies. Seth Allen added a season-high 26 points and Zach LeDay scored 20.
