Florida standout cornerback Jalen Tabor and tight end C’yontai Lewis have been reinstated after a one-week suspension.

The two players were disciplined for fighting in practice on Aug. 16. Coach Jim McElwain said neither player will suit up when the Gators open the season against Massachusetts on Sept. 3.

“We talked about it as a family and our expectations,” McElwain said during a press conference. “Off we go.”

Both Tabor and Lewis returned to practice on Thursday.

The status of star receiver Antonio Callaway remains uncertain. Callaway was suspended in January for violating the university’s code of conduct policy in regards to an alleged sexual assault.

He was recently cleared in a university Title IX hearing with the decision being made by an officer who is a Florida booster.

“We’re still working through some things,” McElwain said.
