Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio underwent surgery on his non-throwing shoulder, coach Jim McElwain announced on Thursday.

Del Rio will miss spring drills while recuperating from the procedure.

Del Rio injured his left shoulder during a loss to Arkansas on Nov. 5 and missed the rest of the season.

He also suffered a knee injury last season and compiled a 5-1 record as Florida’s starter. He finished his sophomore campaign with 1,358 yards, eight touchdown passes and eight interceptions.

Del Rio is the son of Oakland Raiders coach Jack Del Rio.
