Treon Harris, a former starting quarterback for the University of Florida, is transferring from the school.
While the university confirmed Monday that Harris is exiting, there was no indication of where the player would land.

The Gators intended to make Harris a wide receiver in the upcoming season.
Harris, who was to be a junior this fall, missed spring practice this year due to team-imposed suspension for a code-of-conduct violation. According to ESPN.com, he was back taking classes and training at the team’s facility in June.
As a freshman in 2012, Harris was a Southeastern Conference All-Freshman selection. He went 4-2 as a starter after taking over in the fourth game. He completed 55 of 111 passes for 1,019 yards with nine touchdowns and four interceptions.
Will Grier replaced Harris to begin the 2015 season, but when Grier was hit with a one-year suspension by the NCAA for a violation of the policy banning performance-enhancing drugs, Harris was back in as the starter. He went 5-4 under center in 2015-16, completing 119 of 235 passes for 1,676 yards with nine TDs and six interceptions.
The Gators dropped each of his final three games as a starter, including a 41-7 setback to Michigan in the Outback Bowl. Harris caught a 2-yard touchdown pass in the loss for Florida’s only score.
Harris’ time with the Gators included several off-the-field difficulties.
Harris briefly was suspended in 2014 when he faced a sexual-battery complaint, but he rejoined the team when the women withdrew the accusation. He missed a game last season due to a team suspension for a rules violation.
With Harris leaving, the battle to start at quarterback is down to Luke Del Rio, Austin Appleby and freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask.
