Georgia star tailback Nick Chubb will miss Saturday’s game against Tennessee due to an ankle injury, according to multiple reports.

Chubb aggravated the injury during the second quarter of last Saturday’s contest against Ole Miss.

Henry Chubb, Nick’s father, told DawgNation that doctors indicated it was a multiple-week injury.

“He’s got that high-ankle sprain,” Henry Chubb said. “He twisted it trying to make a cut against Ole Miss. He’s in good spirits and all. He understands it. The doctor said he’d need a couple weeks, so he’ll probably play next week.”

Chubb, a junior, has rushed for 422 yards and three touchdowns this season.

He played in just six games last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. Chubb rushed for 747 yards and seven touchdowns prior to the injury.

Chubb broke on to the scene in 2014 when then-star Georgia back Todd Gurley suffered a major knee injury. Chubb rushed for 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns.
