GAME BREAKDOWN

KEY MATCHUP: Keeping pressure on Middle Tennessee State QB Brent Stockstill will be LB Josh Allen’s mission. Stockstill is a veteran and son of coach Rick Stockstill, so he knows his way around. He is coming off his 17th-career 300-yard passing game after throwing for 352 yards in last week’s 48-32 romp over UTEP that put the Blue Raiders at 7-3 for the season. Stockstill has completed 68.8 percent of his passes for just under 230 yards a game with 21 touchdowns against five interceptions, but the Blue Raiders also have given up 24 sacks.

DRAFT SLANT

–RB Benny Snell Jr.’s production has slowed in recent weeks with his 81 yards against Tennessee following efforts of 73 yards against Georgia and 67 against Missouri. The three-game span is the longest he has gone without a 100-yard game this season as defenses apparently are seeing if QB Terry Wilson is up to leading the team. “They’ve been defending it differently,” Snell said. “They’ve been loading the box from now to the beginning of the year. That really shouldn’t matter to me.”

ROSTER REPORT:

–S Mike Edwards needs one more tackle to reach 300 for his career. The senior had six stops against Tennessee, giving him 63 for the season.

–RB Benny Snell Jr. added another 81 yards to his rushing total, giving the junior 3,513 yards for his career. He needs 323 yards in Kentucky’s last three games (including a bowl) to pass Sonny Collins, whose 3,835 rushing yards are No. 1 in the school record book.

–WR Dorian Baker will return this week after serving a one-game suspension last week. Coach Mark Stoops did not give a reason why Baker had been suspended.
