PLAYERS TO WATCH
–QB Nick Fitzgerald is now the SEC’s all-time leading rusher as a quarterback, surpassing Tim Tebow and now has 2,999 yards for his career. Fitzgerald is coming off a 195-yard rushing performance against Auburn with two touchdowns.
–S Mark McLaurin led the Bulldogs with 10 tackles against Auburn and also forced a crucial fumble at the goal line to keep the Tigers out of the end zone. McLaurin is currently second on the team with 38 tackles this season.
–LS Joel Baldwin was in the right place at the right time in MSU’s previous game against Auburn, falling on a muffed punt. Baldwin’s fumble recovery set up the Bulldogs’ first touchdown on the final play of the first half.
–CB Tyler Williams is one of the cornerbacks that has had to step up in the absence of Jamal Peters the past three games. Williams has been banged up too but is long and lean with a bright future ahead.
