Texas A&M defensive back Derrick Tucker was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury.

Brazos County (Texas) court records show he was arrested Thursday in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred on March 24.

He was released on $5,000 bond. No other information was available.

Tucker was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2017, ranked as the nation’s 19th-best safety that year.

He has been a contributor in his two years in the program. He has played in 21 games, starting 15 of them, and has 82 tackles, an interception and one forced fumble.

Neither coach Jimbo Fisher nor the university has commented on Tucker’s situation.
